real estate in Newbury Park is at a premium
Newbury Park is a town located in the western area of the city of Thousand Oaks. The town has continuously ranked as one of the safest communities in the nation. Also, Money Magazine ranked the community as one of the most affluent in the United States. Characterized by its many rolling green hills and native oak, woodland, this city is booming with businesses and family fun.
Newbury Park was originally settled by the Chumash Native Americans hundreds of years ago. There are museums you can visit today to learn more about their history. Once the Europeans began to settle the land, Egbert Starr Newbury bought thousands of acres in the Conejo Valley. Then he and his wife opened up the first post office in the area. The land was later named after this post office even though the family left just a short six years later after their arrival. In the late 1900s, the town was to be incorporated by Thousand Oaks, but many residents tried to stop the incorporation. However, they were not successful.
An interesting fact about Newbury Park is the recent increase in population due to the new biotechnology and technology corporations, like Amgen.
The community is more rural with its borders of the Santa Monica Mountains and the ridges of Conejo Canyons. There are many equestrian areas and open spaces for people who enjoy horseback riding or hiking. Housing options are within two major residential areas, Rancho Conejo Village and Dos Vientos Ranch.
